TUSTIN, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Association
for Corporate Growth (ACG) Orange County Chapter’s
Academy Program will present pragmatic energy solutions
for manufacturing, transportation, and facilities
on Wednesday, February 28 at 7:15 AM at the Center
Club in Costa Mesa, Calif.
ACG’s speakers will emphasize economics and
practical ideas for conservation, including improvements
that can be implemented immediately. Two speakers
represent CMTC, a nonprofit consulting group that
is supported by the US Department of Commerce, and
is working with the Department of Commerce’s
National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)
to disseminate information and facilitate leading
manufacturing techniques, including energy conservation,
for the purpose of enhancing the competitiveness
of U.S. businesses. CMTC also has major contracts
with California-based utilities, including SCE,
PG&E, SDG&E, to aid and promote commercial
energy conservation.
Presenters from CMTC are:
Kirk Prather, program manager, Energy Services Group,
who has over 30 years of experience split between
management consulting in operations and working
in manufacturing companies as an engineer or operations
manager. He has previously worked for companies
such as General Electric Co, Bausche & Lomb,
and KPMG/Peat Marwick. Prather has BSEE, MBA, and
Masters in Industrial Engineering.
Steve Bell, account manager, Distribution Group,
who currently focuses on process improvement in
both our distribution and transportation groups.
In his roles he helps develop supply chain logistics
solutions for business. Working for the president
of the Hospital Supply Group of Baxter Healthcare
in 1994 along with three other senior level managers,
Bell re-structured an organization that ultimately
became U.S. Logistics, Inc. and then served as the
vice president of transportation for this group
which included the complete design, development
and implementation of national logistics networks
for Sunrise Medical and Medline Industries.
Also presenting is Jorden Segraves, architect and
energy consultant. Segraves is the chair of the
Orange County council of the U.S. Green Building
Council and co-chair of its western region (CA,
OR, WA, AK, HI and Vancouver, BC). A LEED accredited
professional, and NCARB Certified Licensed architect
in the state of California, he is a founding board
member and current chair of the United States Green
Building Council (USGBC) – Orange County Chapter
and elected co-chair for the USGBC - Pacific Coast
Region. His firm looks to incorporate sustainable
integrated design principles in to all of their
projects.
